Week 1 Update!

What a busy first week of school!  We are so proud of ALL of our students for the hard work and dedication they exhibited this week for EVERY rehearsal and for ALL of our performances!  The students showed great resilience (especially Friday) when agendas and plans changed every 10 minutes!


FAMILIES: THANK YOU for being so supportive so far this season!  Whether you volunteered for a specific job, gave your student a ride, came to a performance or simply asked your student how their day went.  YOU help provide the positive environment that helps these amazing band students THRIVE!  THANK YOU!


REMINDER: There is no school Monday due to the Labor Day holiday and there is no band rehearsal in the evening.


Enjoy your weekend, and don’t think about school.  We can’t wait to see you back in action next Tuesday during class!

  • TUESDAY August 26 - Stadium Dedication Performance

  • 6:00pm - Marching to stadium

  • 6:30pm - Ceremony

  • 7:45pm - Approximate Done/Get picked-up.



  • THURSDAY August 28 - Home Football VS. Windsor

  • 8:00pm - approx half-time show

  • 8:15pm - approx Return to Band room

  • 8:30pm - approx Change/Get picked up

(students wishing to return for end of  game will receive a stamp
to get back in for free)

Announcements Week of Aug 18

We’ve got an exciting few weeks ahead of us, including a very important added performance that we just received an invitation for!


THIS WEEK:


  • Monday August 18 - Rehearsal 8am-12pm - Starting AT PRACTICE FIELD

    • Upperclassmen - Your orientation starts at 9:30.  You will be dismissed at 9am so you can be first in line to get ID’s/Pictures/Parking passes/Etc.  It is an open house format, so once you do those things or any other items you will return to rehearsal as soon as possible.

    • DRUMLINE PERFORMANCE: As soon as rehearsal ends at Noon - Drumline is going to move to the main entrance outside of the FAC and play cadences as Freshman arrive for orientation.  Approximately 12:15-12:30.  Upperclassmen and Mr. Wellfare will put away Freshman equipment so they can go straight to orientation. Please wear show shirt


LOOKING AHEAD:


  • NEW - August 26 PERFORMANCE - We have been invited to perform for the dedication of the new football stadium on Tuesday Aug. 26.  This will be our first time in full uniform.  The event starts at 6:30pm.  Once I know more about what is expected of us and I receive a program for the organizers I will have a minute by minute itinerary.  For now, here is my best guess:

    • 5:30pm - Arrive and change into uniform/inspection

    • 6:00pm - Marching to stadium

    • 6:30pm - Ceremony

    • 7:30pm - Approximate Done/Get picked-up.

  • Reminder - Our first home football game is THURSDAY Aug 28 (this will be our only Thursday game)

Update

Upperclassmen Orientation is set to happen during our rehearsal on Monday Aug 18.  


This is apparently a bigger conflict that I thought it was going to be.  


I will work out a plan and send an update later this week.
