-2nd Trimester starts Monday. Marching Band emails will be less frequent, but each concert band
will receive weekly emails with updates

Uniform: Dress Warm. Santa Hats. Decorated Instruments. Band Overcoats.
Itinerary:
4:30pm - Band Room Opens
5:00pm - Call Time RTP - music warm-up
5:15pm - Move to parade staging at Stadium Parking Lot
6:00pm - Parade Starts
6:15pm - Approximate Band Completion at end of Parade Route (location TBD)
6:30pm - Approximate Pick-Up at Band Room

-Trailer Lighting and other updates are slated to start after Christmas Break.
-New Covers for Percussion Instruments - are in the design stage. Mr. Wellfare needs
help sowing and deciding materials. Email Mr. Wellfare if you can help us out: wellfarek@calschools.org

Special Events:
-Chili Cook-Off Jazz Night is coming on March 20. Auction items and other needs will be
communicated soon.
-MSBOA Jazz Festival will be hosted by CHS on March 14. Adult and student help will be
needed to help with this event and showcase our program to 15 schools from across Michigan.


Functions/Hospitality:
-Sign-ups for ushers and other hospitality opportunities will be added to the calendar soon!

MarchingBand: Fundraising Update

The following is an update from our Boosters Fundraising Team regarding the current Cookie Dough and Ham Fundraisers.

-For each Cookie Dough item sold the students account will receive $2.83
-For Each Ham sold each students account will receive about $5.00

-Audition Workshop Day is being hosted by Albion College. This is a great
opportunity to help understand what is required of auditions for colleges.

Winterguard Information

Join us this Wednesday Nov. 14 from 6:00pm-9:00pm in the Band Room 
for our first Winterguard Meeting/Audition of the 2018-19 Season.  
There will be a brief parent meeting starting at 6:00pm followed by the practice. 

This is your chance to get all the information regarding the upcoming season 
and try out for this State Championship team!  

Please wear comfortable clothing that you can dance in.  All information 
regarding the season will be given out at this meeting including Calendars, 
Fees, Requirements, etc.

MarchingBand: Announcements Week of November 12

Dear Marching Band Students and Parents,


Below are your announcements for the week of November 12.


-Congratulations Mr. Wellfare and family - Winston Robert Wellfare was
born on Oct. 31 at 1:16pm. Mom, Baby and Dad are all happy, healthy and
exhausted. Big brother Oliver is happy, excited and far far far from exhausted...
-Winterguard information will be emailed on Monday. Sorry about the delay.
-Mr. Wellfare will be out until Thanksgiving Break. If you have tried to contact
him please be patient. He hasn’t checked his email since Oct. 31.  Mrs. Hollemans
can answer any immediate questions.
-Cookie Dough and Ham sales start this week. More details soon.

-Does anyone have experience working with neoprene or heavy canvas?
We are designing new waterproof covers for our mallet instruments and need
help. Email Mr. Wellfare if you can help us out: wellfarek@calschools.org
-Future Needs will be communicated soon as we continue construction and
modification of the Semi and our other trailers over the winter months.
-Planning for next year has already begun so be on the lookout for ways
you can get involved early
