MarchingBand: Caledonia Christmas Parade Info!

Here are the details for the Caledonia Christmas Parade for this Saturday, December 4!  It is a short, but fun, event!

Itinerary:

4:30pm - HS Band Room Opens

5:00pm - CALL TIME - Ready to Play - Warm-up/Rehearse/decorate

5:30pm - March to Parade Staging area (Stadium Parking lot)

6:00pm - PARADE!

6:15pm - Approximate end of Parade (pick-up details below)

6:30pm - Approximate pick-up at HS if not getting picked up at end of route

7:00pm - Band Room Closes

Pick-Up:

The Band will stop at the Caledonia Village office (click for map) Students can be picked-up here, but should be driven back to the HS to drop off their hats/instruments/jackets.  Students may also walk via the trail back to the HS if they wish.  

Uniform:

Dress Warm!!!!  We will be wearing our raincoats and red and white Santa Hats.  Students may bring their own Red and White Santa Hat or use one that we provide.  Remember to layer and Dress Warm!  

Decorations:

As discussed in class, decorate your instruments/selves with lots of lights and festive decorations.  Only stipulations are that it cannot affect the playability/sound of your instrument or restrict your ability to move correctly.

Band Seniors - IMPORTANT!

SENIORS ONLY!!!

Please remember to bring your concert uniforms to class tomorrow (THURSDAY)

We will be taking formal pictures of our seniors with a photographer so that we can make a special display honoring you and your accomplishments!

Please help each other remember to do this!

Here is the travel itinerary for Friday, November 12 for our “Home” game at Grandville High School.

We need Volunteers: Bus Chaperones, Uniform Collection, Pit Crew.  Click Here to volunteer

4:45pm - Uniform Room Opens.

5:00pm - Call Time! Load Semi/Change - Semi Departs as soon as loaded

5:30pm - Depart CHS Via School Bus for Grandville

6:00pm - Arrive at Grandville HS/Unload

6:53pm - Pregame

7:00pm - Kick-off

9:15pm - Approximate End of Game

9:30pm - Load Semi and Depart for CHS
10:15pm - Approximate Arrival at CHS/Unload/Get Picked-Up

We will send a Remind text when we depart Grandville and will encourage your students to communicate with you so that they can be picked-up when we return.

Uniforms:  Black or Camo Pants - Camo stocking cap if you have one (we will have them for students who dont’ already own one)

Announcements Week of November 8

More play-off football action this weekend!  There are a lot of things getting started in the Band right now, so be on the lookout for more announcements later this week.

-Football Friday - It’s exciting to be back in the post season with another Home play-off football game this Friday, November 12!  We will again be at Grandville.  Same Travel itinerary as last week.

-Wreath Sale - Our holiday Wreath sale is happening now.  Supplies are limited so order your beautiful wreath now!  Click Here to Order.  Orders will be available for pick-up on November 18 from 2:30-6:30. If you are available to help with distribution please click here to sign-up.

-SCRIP - If you talked to Mrs. Snyder at the concert about signing up for Scrip please contact her so you can complete your paperwork.  This is such a great easy way to help the band, Thanks!

-MS Band Polos - Remember the purple Middle School Band Polos?  If you have one that is in good condition and will never wear again please consider donating it back to us so we can make sure everyone at the MS has a shirt regardless of their financial situation.  They can be dropped off in the HS Band Room.

Friday Bus Sign-Up

Click Here to Sign-Up for a Bus.  Sign-Up will close at 7:30am on Friday.

If the sign-up asks for a school code it is “Caledoniaband”

YOU CANNOT CHANGE BUSSES ONCE YOU HAVE SIGNED-UP.

FAQ:

Q: All My friends signed up for a different bus can I switch?

A: No

Q: I Signed up for a bus and then my friends accidentally signed up for a different bus. Can I Switch?

A: No

Q: I accidentally hit the submit button after I wrote my name in a space on the wrong bus.  Can I Switch?

A: No

Q: My Whole section was supposed to be on the same bus, but I forgot to sign-up for that bus so Mr. Welfare assigned me to a different bus because I waited until after 7:30am on Friday and the sign-up closed...Can I Switch busses?

A: No

Q: Can I accept my fate for a 20 minute drive if I somehow screw up signing up for a bus?

A: Yes.
