CalBands: Spring Music Trip Update

We are very excited that we now have 125 students signed up for our spring music trip.  Our travel company has

reserved a 3rd motor coach, which means we will plan to take a total of 140 students on the trip.  As of the writing

of this email, we have 15 spots remaining before we start to put additional students on a wait list.  All spots are

first-come, first-serve and we have recorded the order of every form turned in so far.

We greatly appreciate the many parents/guardians who expressed interest in chaperoning this trip and will follow

up with those interested once we have more detailed information on price and availability.

Music Travel Opportunity

Dear HS Band Families,

On Friday we learned about a travel opportunity in partnership with Thornapple Travel that all CHS music students will have the option to participate in this spring.  This trip will take place during the April 20-21 weekend and include stops in Ann Arbor, MI and Cleveland, OH with highlights including the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and UMS Choral Union.  We believe that this will provide students with an incredible music experience and are excited to once again be offering travel opportunities to our amazing students in band, choir, and orchestra.

The listed cost of the trip is $375 dollars, which is a great price for everything included, and the price may decrease depending on the number of students attending the trip.  In situations of financial hardship, please have an individual conversation with your child's teacher.

Attached are the current itinerary for the trip and a permission form.  To reserve your spot on the trip, please return a signed copy of the attached permission form by Wednesday, October 11th (students 18 or older must still have a parent/guardian signature).

Have a great week!
