Here are your Marching Band Announcements for the week of September 19.
This Week:
-Final Uniform Fittings Monday September 19 5pm
-Rehearsal Monday evening (September 19) from 6pm-8pm
-Performance Week! Saturday September 24 (see details below)
-Pit Crew parent Volunteer work morning September 24 (further details shortly)
-We have started to get preliminary schedules for the invitationals in October. I will send a separate email early this week with “tentative” time frames. Once we receive final confirmation of performance times I will send a detailed schedule for each event.
-THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS VOLUNTEERED SO FAR THIS SEASON! Running a Marching Band program is a monumental task that would not be possible without the support of our amazing parents and volunteers!

Saturday September 24 Info and Itinerary
Due to Lack of Bands signing up Kenowa Hills has canceled their invitational. We are still going to use this day for a few very important things. 1)Uniform instruction and “test run” 2)Rehearse in uniform to get a feel for what it will be like 3)Pictures 4) A parent performance and official uniform unveiling! This will be a much shorter day than an invitational normally would be, but will be just as (if not more) important!
We will need volunteers for this day. Once I speak with our committee heads I will send a sign-up
11:30am - Students Meet in Band Room for training in uniform care/maintenance/wearing. Colorguard will use this time for rehearsal and equipment training
12:00pm - Change into uniforms
12:15pm - Uniform Inspections to make sure everything fits and nothing needs to be refit, etc and Pictures/rehearsal. (individual/section/full group, ordering info will be emailed)
2:45pm - Parent Performance! (location TBD - but most likely our practice field)
3:00pm - Approximate Return to Band Room to return uniforms
3:15pm - Approximate Pick-Up Time
Does anyone have a Drone that can take Video/Pictures? We would love to get some video and photos from above the band on Saturday. Watching a performance in uniform will be an important teaching tool leading up to our performance schedule in October. Email Mr. Wellfare at wellfarek@calschools.org if you can help with this.
