Charms Shutdown - CutTime Update

Dear Cal Band Families,

Charms Office is now officially shut down!

Soon you will receive a Text Message from CutTime (details from previous email below).  If you don’t have a cell number on file with us it will default to your email.

Please be patient as we learn to navigate this new system and use it to best serve our Band Families!

You may receive some extra notifications via text initially as we learn how CutTime updates you to changes we make in finances, events, volunteers etc. (I made myself a test student and guardian so I could test out functionality, and I think I found most of the annoying notifications and turned them off…but I can’t guarantee I got them all)

If you ever feel like you are not getting announcements from the Band you can always check here: https://chsmarchingbandannouncements.blogspot.com/  (and if you are really bored you can read every single email i’ve sent through charms since 2018 to theBand in the archive)  I will continue to use this as an archive of all of my messages

I will also periodically use the Powerschool Messenger as we make the transition to CutTime to make sure everyone is getting communication.

Making and Tracking Payments is a big part of CutTime.  We are still updating these and getting the online payment system running so we will keep you posted as we progress.

Thanks and have a great Long Weekend!

CHARMS PHASE OUT for NEW CutTime Software - Update

This week will conclude our use of charms for emails/calendar/finances/etc.  We will try to make this transition seamless with no loss of communication.  I will send cuttime instructions before charms goes away (it’s easy… less instructions, more just letting you know it’s happening).  All communication we send is archived if you ever feel you are missing something you can bookmark this link: https://chsmarchingbandannouncements.blogspot.com/

Charms is being phased out and will officially stop operating on Aug 29.  They were bought out by the company CutTime and we will be transitioning to CutTime over the next week.  You will receive communication soon regarding this switch.  Based on what we have experienced during the migration CutTime is MUCH better than Charms and will make things easier for everyone.

Announcements Week of Aug 12

Here are your announcements for the week of Aug 12.

Take some time today to review your music, drill and other material from camp.

This Week:

Monday Aug 12 - Rehearsal 8am-12pm - we will start on our practice field

Upperclassmen have orientation times on Monday - please try to make the afternoon time work if possible. Otherwise, start rehearsal with us at 8, go to orientation at 10 then come back when done.  I’m not sure how the 12:30 time is different, but if that can work for you it would be best.

Colorguard - Rehearsal from 6-9pm with staff on Monday and Wednesday.  Brandon will communicate any further details, and we will have a full schedule of sectionals for you shortly

Camp Wrap-Up and Upcoming Events

Band Camp 2024 is a wrap and I can’t thank all of our students and families enough for their hard work, dedication and positive attitudes this week.  Band camp compresses what would be many weeks of rehearsal into one intense week, and it requires a lot of fortitude and endurance to push through the heat, physical and mental challenges, and schedule!  We are so PROUD of all of our students for meeting and exceeding these demands this week!

THANK YOU PARENTS for providing your student with lots of positive encouragement and support!

UPCOMING:

Make sure you keep track of our Calendar at https://caledoniabands.com/calendar

Here are our upcoming events for August:

August 12 - Rehearsal 8am-Noon

August 19 - First Day of School and First Monday Rehearsal 6-8pm

August 26 - Monday Night Rehearsal 6-8pm

August 29 - FIRST FOOTBALL GAME vs Windsor! (yes it is a Thursday)

Can’t wait to see everyone on August 12 as we continue to refine our Show!
