Announcements Week of Sept 21

Here are your announcements for the week of Sept 21.

The next three weeks have a lot going on, and then things slow down a bit.  Eat good meals, hydrate, get lots of sleep and stay healthy!

Make sure you keep checking your band calendar!  

THIS WEEK:

  • Monday Sept 21 - Rehearsal 6pm-8pm - On the practice Field

  • Friday Sept 25 - NEW - WOODTV 8 Football Frenzy - 5:30am-7:00am - info below

ITINERARIES: 

SEPT 25 - Friday Wood TV8 Football Frenzy Performance

This is new..I may have more details on this early this week, but this is what I know right now.

Students are meeting early this week to figure out snacks, etc.

  • 5:30am - Arrive at CHS - Show shirts (no uniform) - go to stadium

  • 5:45am - Be at Stadium

  • 6:00pm-7:00pm - Perform during WoodTV8 Daybreak Morning show

  • 7:00pm - Go back to school - resume day as norma


SEPT 25 - Friday Football Itinerary Vs. Hudsonville:

  • 4:30pm - Band Room Opens

  • 5:00pm - Uniform Room Opens 

  • 5:45pm - RTP (ready to play) on practice field in Full Uniform

  • 6:30pm - Marching to Stadium

  • 6:50pm - Pre-Game!

  • 7:00pm - Kickoff

  • *9:15pm - Approximate end of game and March band to Band Room to Change

  • *9:45pm - Approximate Pick-Up Time

    *Please note that these times are approximate due to the pace of each game being different,


September 26 - Grand Haven Invitational

  • 3:15pm - Band Room Opens

  • 3:45pm - RTP on Practice Field for Warm-Up Rehearsal

  • 4:45pm - Load Semi

  • 5:00pm - Uniform Room opens to change

  • 5:45pm - Depart CHS for Grand Haven HS

  • 6:45pm - Arrive at Grand Haven HS and Unload

  • 7:30pm- Warm-Up

  • 7:55pm - Move to Performance

  • 8:10pm - Staging

  • 8:15pm - PERFORMANCE!

  • 8:30pm - Watch Last Band perform from endzone 

  • 9:15pm - Awards

  • 9:30pm - Return to Semi and Load

  • 9:45pm - Approximate Departure from Grand Haven

  • 10:45pm - Approximate arrival at CHS/Unload/Change/PickUp

UPCOMING:

EVENT CHANGE - On Saturday Oct 3 we were scheduled to travel to Alma College and perform for their invitational….Alma College has cancelled their invitational.  We will instead perform at the HASTINGS INVITATIONAL.  The anticipated timeframe will be about the same. Travel Itinerary will be finalized early this week.  Thank you to our friends at Hastings for finding a way to fit us into their schedule!

BIG EVENT - ALL HEADS ON DECK!

This year we have been asked to HOST the MSBOA District Marching Band Festival on Tuesday Oct. 13 starting at 6:30pm!  This will be a great showcase for our band program and it’s people, our community, and our beautiful facilities ... .We will need A LOT of Parent help to make this happen!  As the schedule is released (sometime in the next two-three weeks) and we know how many bands (best Guess: 10-15) I will send out volunteer jobs and sign-ups.  

SAVE THE DATE - Scrap Drive

Our Fall Scrap Drive will be Saturday Oct 17 from 9am-4pm in the Stadium Parking Lot.
